Have been reading a bunch of Edward Abbey, both fiction and nonfiction, and Dennis Covington's Salvation at Sand Mountain, a nonfiction work investigating and profiling some Appalachian snake-handling churches.
I probably won't convert just yet.
Pretty good book, very honest and sensitive examination of the author's own (heretofore non-snake-handling) faith in his efforts to come to grips with what he's seeing (and doing).
