our mutual friend

yesterday she gave me the best gift anyone has in ages:

She turned to me and said,
"I'm taking a poll:
Do you think I'm a negative person?"

imagine my glee. my answer was "Oh, absolutely!"
and then she tried to argue with me,
and i produced and argued from evidence.

i don't know that i persuaded her, but
i did manage to make her feel not so good
for the short time it must have taken her
to decide that she didn't like what i had to say
so it therefore must be stupid and thus ignored.

but i could be wrong. on any number of counts
except for the report on my own opinion which was solicited,
and which remains my opinion.

but it was a pretty specific and abstract question:
specific as in offering a binary choice,
abstract as in presentation of that binary choice.

Dweezil reports she was disappointed about the bar
but walked it off. she couldn't have been surprised
... unless noticing whether you're studying or not is stupid
and therefore not to be considered.

now who's negative?
