i found my greater happiness: today
upon emerging from my sleep
and dream to be so quick confronted
by bright hard-edged now with
its many dread immediate demands;
so i awoke, and from today i shied
and sought to couch myself within
blithe reverie of yesterday when
as adroitly as this morn i slipped
the snare of grave concern and found
my greater happiness in memory of past success.
